Workshop Foreman

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position tenable at Kasinthula Cane Growers Limited in Chikwawa.
Position: Workshop Foreman
Purpose of the job
To provide leadership, guidance and direction in the execution of all functions of the workshop and ensure efficiency, effectiveness and quality outputs at all times.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring full utilization of available labour and resources to achieve planned operational targets
Supervising subordinates to produce quality work and allocating job cards, ensuring maximization of throughput by aligning jobs to skill sets within the workshop Team.
Assisting workshop staff technically and ensure they develop and achieve increasing levels of quality and efficiency;
Give practical assistance, on-the-job training and technical advice to subordinates;
Inform management if necessary on any unclear working instructions or costly extension on repair
jobs;
In the absence of an electrician/General Fitter, perform the duties of an electrician /Fitter once
repairs are finalized and ensure the repair job has been done satisfactorily;
Ensure that all consumables are replenished in good time;
Maintain all administrative records for the workshop.
Qualifications and other requirements
Higher Technical Diploma (Electrical and/or mechanical) with ten years’ experience in similar
field of expertise.
Computer literate (Microsoft, Electrical & mechanical diagnosis)
Leadership / Team management.
Must be ready to meet deadlines.
